Farmers Association Sells Pomelos DirectFarmers association staff sort pomelos in the market plaza yesterday. [Staff Report] The district farmers association is selling pomelos direct from the farm at a stall in the North District market plaza, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, while supplies last. Thanks to steady weather during flowering, this year's pomelos are more evenly shaped than last year's and a little sweeter, the association said. Prices are about 20 percent below market, per 6-kilogram box. Staff said pomelos should rest a few days after picking until the skin wrinkles slightly and the flesh softens, when they taste best. Keep them somewhere cool and airy, not in the fridge. Two more temporary stalls will open before Mid-Autumn Festival, locations to be announced; group orders of ten boxes or more can be delivered.
