Blood Drive Held in Market Plaza

The blood center held a blood drive in the North District market plaza yesterday (the 8th) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., collecting 120 bags, twenty more than its target.

Summer is when blood stocks run low, the center said: students are on vacation and donations drop, but demand does not, so it urged the public to give.

Besides the blood bus there was a service desk offering blood type tests and health advice. Donors received a towel, and those who have given 1,000 cc in total received a souvenir.

A man who has donated for over twenty years said he goes whenever he sees the blood bus. "Your body makes it back anyway." The center reminded donors to eat normally and sleep well beforehand.
