Market Stalls Get New Numbers

88.03.27 Local News Page 14

[Staff Report]

The North District market is renumbering its stalls from this month. After years of stalls being added and merged, the old numbers were out of order, causing trouble with fees and management.

The management office said the new numbers follow the aisles, with matching acrylic plates hung above each stall. Vendors should bring their stall permits to exchange; those who do not will be notified separately.

A produce vendor said the new number does not matter much. "Regulars know the person, not the number."

The office said it will also check for unused stalls; those not operating for a long time will be reclaimed and re-let.
