Seniors' Group Meals Expand to Three Times a WeekSeniors eat together at the community center yesterday. [Staff Report] The North District seniors' group meal program is expanding this month from once a week to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, still at the community center, with lunch at 11:30 a.m. Staff said participation has grown every year in the program's two years. About eighty people are now registered, mostly seniors living alone or elderly couples. Community volunteers help cook three dishes and a soup per meal, adjusted for softness and saltiness. Each meal costs NT$20; low-income households eat free. Besides meals, the program offers blood pressure checks and simple exercises. Those interested can register with ID at their borough office.
