Teenagers have recently been gathering after dark at a community park in the North District. It is understood that some have been street racing and making noise until the early hours, and nearby residents are fed up.

Members of the public report that the lanes around the park are narrow and the street lights old. "You don't dare go out at night." It is understood there have been several scooter thefts around the park in recent months, and residents say people have been drinking in the pavilion at night.

Borough chief Chang Chin-shui said lighting and lanes in the North District's older neighborhoods are poor and full of blind spots. "The real fix is to rebuild the whole area." Police said they will step up patrols.
