More Buses at Rush Hour

88.05.01 General News Page 7

Commuters wait at a bus stop yesterday morning.

[Staff Report]

The bus department said that to meet growing demand from commuters and students, it will add rush-hour service on five routes from next month, cutting the interval between 7 and 8:30 a.m. from twenty minutes to twelve.

The added service focuses on routes past schools and markets, based on last year's ridership survey. Off-peak service is unchanged.

New timetables will be posted at stops and shelters from next week. Old stop signs will be replaced and some shelters will get benches.

Riders with low balances on their cards should top up in advance so as not to hold up boarding.
