Free Vaccinations Start This Month

The health center is offering free vaccinations for preschool children from this month, including the diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus combined vaccine and oral polio vaccine, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m.

Parents should bring the child's health insurance card and vaccination record card, and tell the doctor about any recent illness. Children with a fever or acute illness should wait.

After the shot, please rest on site for thirty minutes before leaving. Some redness and swelling is normal; persistent high fever or unusual crying calls for a doctor.

Flu shots for residents 65 and older will be announced separately in the fall; registration will be at borough offices or the health center.
